This year I decided that I wanted to keep track of new things I tried. One of the things I really like is ramen, so I decided to keep track of new instant ramen that I purchased and consumed this year.
Below is a list in order of consumption (not preference).
But if you want to know which one was my favorite of the year, it was the Assi Rapokki.
Nong Shim Chapagetti
Rating: 6/10
Notes:
- Supposed to resemble Jajangmyeon
- Apparently very popular is South Korea
- Got at Gmart
- Gold packaging
- Not a particularly strong flavor but still tasty and beefy
Nong Shim Spicy Kimchi
Rating: 7/10
Notes:
- Good price
- Actually relatively spicy
- Thin noodles
- Can be a bit watery, but I suppose that is my cooking method
Samyang Buldak Stir-Fried Spicy Chicken Ramen
Rating: 7/10
Notes
- Pretty spicy
- I ate with Sambol Olek and it was hot, probably advise against a large heap of that.
- You can tell it is artificially flavored but it is still decent.
Koka Spicy Sesame
Rating: 7.5/10
Notes:
- Lots of veggies in the veggie packet
- The spicy oil was good, I did not feel like I needed to add hot sauce.
- Noodles could have been a little thicker
- I think I used a tiny bit too much water
Nongshim Shin Black With Beef Bone Broth
Rating: 7.5/10
Notes:
- Actually fairly spicy
- A little expensive, but as it is more common “good” ramen brand you can kind at an American style grocery store it was worth it.
- The bone broth added a nice touch.
Assi Rapokki
Rating: 9/10
Notes:
- It is basically rice cakes in spicy ramen.
- The sauce is really good.
- The rice cakes are a little chewy but in a good way.
- This stuff rules.
Nongshim Neoguri Spicy Seafood
Rating: 9/10
Notes:
- Really good noodles, good texture and a bit chewy
- Pretty spicy actually
- Has a slight seafood scent which is nice.
